Dave Does Websiting is deliberately small. You deal with me from the first conversation to the finished website — and afterwards, whenever you need me.
I build, fix and look after websites for small businesses. No account managers, no sales team and no mysterious technical department hiding behind a support ticket.
Small businesses need good websites just as much as bigger businesses do. What they don't necessarily need is a big agency process wrapped around them.
I've spent years working with business websites, ecommerce, online systems and the everyday digital tools businesses rely on. A lot of that has involved figuring out what works, what doesn't, and how to make things simpler for the people actually using them.
That's the thinking behind Dave Does Websiting: understand what the business needs, make a sensible plan, and get on with it.
If something can be explained simply, I'll explain it simply. If your existing website can be improved rather than replaced, I'll tell you. And you'll know what the work costs before I start.
The highly technical process of sorting your website out without making the whole thing more complicated than it needs to be.
That's rather the point.
The web industry has enough terminology already. You shouldn't need to know your CMS from your CSS just to get a decent website for your business.
So I do the websiting. You get on with running the business.
Nothing revolutionary. Just a few things I think make working together considerably easier.
From the first conversation onwards, you're dealing directly with me.
I'll explain what matters without drowning you in terminology you don't need.
I won't recommend a bigger job simply because it's a bigger job.
If you want ongoing help once the website is live, you can come back to the same person.
I work with small businesses that want a professional website without turning it into a massive project.
You don't need a technical brief before getting in touch. A conversation about the business, what you've already got and what you're trying to achieve is enough to start.
New website, old website, broken website or absolutely no idea where to start — tell me what's going on.
